If you’re coming in to see Rylee for a new functional medicine consultation, you can expect a one-hour visit focused on your health concerns and goals, along with an in-depth discussion of who you are and the factors that may have contributed to dysfunction over time. The goal of this conversation is to tailor testing and treatment options to your needs and preferences, and to investigate the root causes of your current symptoms and health issues. Functional medicine focuses on upstream imbalances—also known as root causes—and aims to address them to support comprehensive healing and prevent future imbalance and dysfunction.
At the end of your establishing visit, you can expect to discuss assessment options. Labs are often recommended and typically include nutrient, metabolic, and hormone markers tailored specifically to you. Additional in-depth functional panels are also available and may be recommended based on your symptoms and any underlying dysfunction that may require further analysis. These options are always discussed and offered, but never required. The benefit of pursuing these tests is to better tailor treatment and support more efficient, targeted healing based on objective data. These options are outlined below. Follow-up visits focus on reviewing results, creating individualized plans, and adjusting those plans based on your progress and evolving goals.
