Yin Yoga for Improved Health

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that offers a unique opportunity to be still, quieting the mind and releasing stress and anxiety. Seated and reclined poses are held for 3-5 minutes to maximize tissue relaxation and access deeper layers of fascia. Props and supportive equipment are used to encourage your comfort within the pose. Regardless of your age or level of fitness or yoga experience, your instructor can assist with modifications and guide you safely and comfortably through a Yin Yoga practice.

Practicing Yin Yoga at least 1-2x/week offers many health benefits:

  • Improved flexibility and range of motion.

  • Increased circulation and digestion.

  • Releases toxins and boosts immunity.

  • Foster relaxed breathing.

  • Promotes mind and body connection.

  • Reduced stress, anxiety, and depression.

  • Improved sleep.

Yin Yoga classes at Statera are 50 minutes, and all equipment is provided. Classes are small, typically 3-6 clients so your instructor can offer more individualized attention. Private sessions are also available. Dress comfortably in non-restrictive clothing, and wear layers. Blankets are available for warmth when needed. You are welcome to wear socks, but no shoes, please. Communicate with your instructor before and during the class about any questions or concerns you have, especially if you have health conditions, physical limitations or restricted flexibility, or if you have difficulty with balance or mobility.
