I am fascinated by how the human body functions and compensates for dysfunction. Every client I have the privilege of working with is unique. I customize each treatment session to meet the immediate needs of the client at that point in their healing journey. Whether you have come for an isolated issue or for a holistic massage, I open each session with an evaluation of what has brought you to me, be it a stress relief to ‘it hurts when I do this’.

After an evaluation for neuromuscular therapy, I work to isolate the problem and eliminate the cause of pain. My holistic treatments include a scan of the body as I work to identify areas in need of preventative care.

As a Holistic Health and Integrative Nutrition coach, I believe bringing mind, body and spirit into balance is the most powerful way to achieve true health. For years I was confused by all the information regarding health and wellness - which diet is best, the best workout program to burn fat, etc. It wasn’t until I started to experience chronic illness that I learned what a healthy lifestyle looked like for me. After healing from my illness by bringing my own mind, body and spirit into balance, I felt a strong calling to be a guide to others to help achieve the same health and happiness that I was experiencing.

As a coach, I work with my clients to achieve balance in their lives by guiding them to understand their bodies unique nutrition and exercise needs, as well as mindfulness skills to nourish their mind and spirit. I believe in putting the power back into the hands of my clients to equip them with the tools to make the best decisions for their health in any situation.

Candace Pickett is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and a certified TRX Instructor. She has always been enthusiastic about staying active and practicing self-care.

Coming to Dubuque from Lawrence, KS in 2014, I became interested in fitness training while taking classes at multiple facilities as a way of meeting people and getting acquainted with Dubuque. After working as a receptionist at Statera, I decided that helping others achieve their fitness goals was a strong motivator for me. Inspired by a fellow TRX trainer at Statera, TRX, or total body resistance exercise, instantly became my passion.

I believe that loving yourself and working on becoming the best version of YOU is what drives people to do anything and everything they set their minds to. Motivation and empathy are two things I factor into each session with all of my clients. My goal for clients is to help them reach down deep inside and see what they are capable of! I want to help others achieve their goals, big or small, and will commit to providing the best training and care possible.

Certified Personal Trainer and TRX Instructor

I am committed to provide a harmonious trainer/client relationship, where we work as a team whether in small group or private sessions.  My goal for each client is to help them attain their fitness goals through mindful planning and taking into account any physical restrictions and/or modifications.  Movement is my passion!

In class you can expect a light-hearted atmosphere but I want you to be challenged. I will always offer safe modifications for all levels and encourage you to have patience with yourself especially if you are injured or have limited mobility. The positive changes I see in clients inspires me. As people build strength, become more flexible and make their health a priority, they become happier people.

I’m a mom of 4 that started pilates 12 years ago to practice self care and get in shape. I was thrilled when my acute back pain, caused by a degenerative disk, vanished within months of starting Pilates Reformer classes. This (and my instructor) encouraged me to continue my pilates journey with pursuing a career in pilates instruction. I’m excited to join the Statera team!
