Natural Ways of Protecting Yourself from Covid-19

Updated: Apr 13

As we continue to adapt our lives to respect social distancing and keep each other safe, many people are wondering how they can protect themselves against contracting a severe case of Covid 19. A great way to support your health is by supporting your immune system with vitamins and nutrients and there are a couple different ways to do so!

Eating nutrient rich foods help protect our body from dis-ease and support our incredible immune systems. When thinking of nutrient rich foods, think of anything that grows from the earth - fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts and seeds. Whole, nutrient dense foods contain micronutrients that can build up our immune systems. A good goal is to try to "eat the rainbow", meaning eating a whole food from each color of the rainbow. You can shoot to get each color in each day or try to eat each color throughout the week, whatever is more realistic for you.

Another great way to support your immune system is by taking good quality supplements. There are a few specific supplements that our medical director, Dr. Lawrence Hutchison, suggests taking daily below. The great news about this is that supplements are an easy addition to our busy lifestyles, it just takes an extra minute each day to take them. Finding good quality supplements on the other hand can be a bit more challenging but luckily, we've made it easy at Statera to ensure that the supplements you're getting are of the best quality.

Dr. Hutchison's supplement recommendations are as follows:

  • Vitamin D3 - 5,000 IU/day

  • Vitamin C - 1,000 mg 2x/day

  • Zinc - 50 mg/day

Until next time,

Coach Bri
