About the event

In a world of cell phones, computer screens and sitting at a desk, we've found the majority of our day spent in a hunched over, slumped posture.  These misaligned movement patterns can affect joint health, triggering a muscular chain reaction with the end result being sore joints, tight or weak muscles and postural imbalances.  Proper alignment strategies can be reintroduced through education, physical therapy, strengthening exercises and deep tissue massage techniques, allowing the body to move, feel and react positively and efficiently.

The Body Clinic Series will include education on posture, anatomy and biomechanics; demonstrations of exercises that can be done at home and with pilates equipment; massage and self-release techniques to reduce muscle tension; and active participation of all exercises and activities with feedback from the instructors. A handout will be provided for each participant to take home that includes home exercises and stretches.

Join Tricia Serres, DPT and Malia Ridgway, Stott Pilates Instructor for one or more of these interactive sessions to learn how to realign your body toward postural symmetry.
